School, Nursery and College Services

School, nursery speech therapy support

"It is estimated that 10% of all children have long term or persistent speech, language and communication difficulties." (The Communication Trust)

We offer local schools, nurseries and colleges packages of Speech and Language Therapy which can be tailored to your needs. Schools may decide to buy-in full days, half days or one off visits. This can be arranged to supplement and enhance the service that the local NHS trust provides.

Student Support

We offer a range of Speech and Language Therapy services to your students. This can include:

  • Screens to identify whether a child is at risk of having speech, language or communication needs.
  • One-off assessments for individual children.
  • Ongoing therapy for individual children.
  • Setting up and running small groups.
  • Support and mentoring to teaching assistants.
  • Regular on-site Speech and Language Therapy.

Staff Support

We can provide Speech and Language training sessions to take place during inset training days or in the school holidays, tailored to your specific needs. Some examples of the training we offer includes:

  • Developing an understanding of Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties, and being able to identify when a child has a Speech, Language or Communication Difficulty.
  • Ways to support children with Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties in the classroom.
  • How to help children with additional needs to access the curriculum.
  • Ways to develop Speech and Language in everyday activities and during play.
  • The link between Speech and Literacy Development.
