I am the owner of East Devon Speech Therapy (formerly River Dart Speech Therapy) and a paediatric Speech and Language Therapist. I work with children of all ages across East Devon, Exeter and surrounding areas. I am passionate about delivering an outstanding level of care, ensuring therapy is effective, engaging and creative.
I am experienced in providing assessment and individual and group therapy for children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties. I have worked with pre-school and school-aged children across a range of settings including clinics, nurseries, mainstream and special schools. I have also worked in a private practice as Team Leader where I provided both clinical supervision to Speech and Language Therapists and management supervision to Occupational Therapists, psychologists, and psychotherapists.
I have experience in providing training and support for teaching staff and parents/carers. I believe in the importance of working closely with parents, carers, and professionals, and value the input of parents, carers, teaching staff and associated professionals throughout the therapy process, establishing and maintaining relationships to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child.

My certified training includes:
- SmILE Therapy - an approach which focuses on functional communication skills to support deaf students and those with additional needs.
- The Lidcombe Programme of Early Stuttering Intervention - a behavioural treatment for children who stutter who are younger than 6 years.
- Speech sound disorders
- Nuffield Dyspraxia training – a widely used programme to manage Developmental Verbal Dyspraxia / Childhood Apraxia of Speech and other severe speech disorders. www.ndp3.org

- SCERTS - an approach which supports children with Autism and social communication difficulties
- Makaton Signing (Foundation and Enhancement courses) - key word signing system used to promote the development of spoken language and initiation skills which uses speech and gesture, facial expression, eye contact and body language. www.makaton.org
- Understanding and supporting attachment difficulties and complex trauma. How they can affect children and young people's development, including communication skills (Course Beetle).
- Fundamentals of working with children and young people who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) (Course Beetle).
- Introduction to Sensory Integration Difficulties (Sensory Integration Education).
I also have informal training in Lego Therapy, Intensive Interaction therapy for non verbal children, Attention Autism, The Zones of Regulation, Talking Mats, Colourful Semantics, and Shape Coding .
