We are able to offer initial speech and language therapy assessments to children of all ages. The initial assessment is an important first step in identifying the strengths and needs of your child and appropriate next steps. The type of assessment will vary depending on the age of your child, and the particular concerns you may have.
The assessment will be carried out in our Sidmouth clinic, your child's nursery, school, or house. It will include a detailed case history in order to gain important information about your child, and to gain a better understanding of your specific concerns. Formal and/ or informal assessment will then be carried out, depending on the specific needs of your child. Once the assessment has been completed, a written report will be written which will detail your child's strengths and needs and give recommendations for next steps.
